"Summer in the City" is a new series that will introduce APA LA's members to the latest innovative, proactive planning in cities around the Los Angeles region. Between June and September, we'll visit several cities whose staff will lead tours, site visits, and presentations that showcase their planning and community development efforts.

On June 21, we'll be kicking off the series in Inglewood. From the newly-renovated Forum and the soon-to-be redeveloped Hollywood Park, to a progressive Energy and Climate Action Plan and the new Crenshaw Line, there's a lot going on in Inglewood. Come explore it with APA and Inglewood's city planners! Charter transportation will be provided to sites that will include:
  • Hollywood Park
  • The Forum
  • A a complex of work/live art studios
  • Downtown Inglewood

Join the American Society of Civil Engineers' Transportation & Development Institute (T&DI) for a presentation from LADOT on the Figueroa Corridor Streetscape Project (MyFigueroa). The project seeks to transform the four-mile Figueroa Corridor into a complete, multi-modal street for pedestrians, bicyclists and transit riders. For this free event, space is limited and subject to venue capacity. Light snacks and drinks will be provided by Arup.
