About the Westchester Flames
Westchester Flames has been part of
Westchester
's soccer scene since their inception in 1998. Westchester Flames men's team won their first
PDL
National Championship in 2001. In the 2000 season, the men's team finished 3rd in the nation and in 2003 the men's team were
PDL
National Finalists. Also in 2003, the Flames became the first team in
USL
history to win one championship, move to a higher division, and go to the final in the higher division. In 1996 they made to the
PDL
National semi finals in
Loreto
,
Texas
were they lost 3-2.
Westchester Flames men's team featured former US National Team members Charlie Davis as well as many players who have advanced to
MLS
and other European Pro Clubs such as: Chris Wingert (Columbus Crew), Jeff Mateo (Columbus Crew), Jordan Cila (Colorado Rapids), Andre Akpan (Colorado Rapids), Carlos Mendes (Red Bulls), Christian Camacho (America de Calle,
Colombia
), John Grande (
Austria
) to name a few as well as many others.
