TORAH PORTION
B'midbar ... In the Wilderness
Numbers 1:1−4:20
On the first day of the second month, in the second year following the exodus from the land of Egypt, the Eternal One spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the Tent of Meeting, saying: "Take a census of the whole Israelite company..." - Numbers 1:1-2

SUMMARY:
· God commands Moses to take a census of all the Israelite males over the age of twenty. (1:1-46)
· The duties of the Levites, who are not included in the census, are detailed. (1:47-51)
· Each tribe is assigned specific places in the camp around the Tabernacle. (1:52-2:34)
· The sons of Levi are counted and their responsibilities are set forth.
(3:1-3:39)
· A census of the firstborn males is taken and a special redemption tax is levied on them. (3:40-51)
· God instructs Moses and Aaron regarding the responsibilities of Aaron
and his sons, and the duties assigned to the Kohathites. (4:1-20)

Shabbat Candle Lighti ng 8:16  p m on Friday, May 18, 2018

It is graduation season, and everyone is getting ready for the
end of the school year. Our congregation is no exception.
We have two big events this week Confirmation and the End of School pot luck lunch

Our Confirmation service will take place this Friday at 7:30 PM. We have four Confirmation students graduating the two-year course: Sydney Berenson, Jimmy Cyganek, Morgan Kohler and Brooke Meyer. They will be helping Rabbi lead the service as well as provide insight into what they have learned and how it will apply to their lives in the future. This will be a very meaningful service so please bring your family to celebrate this major milestone in their lives

Sunday is the last day of Religious School for 2017-18.  I want to personally thank the administration and staff for an excellent school year. The school started the year with 33 students enrolled and will finish with 43 students. This is how CNT will grow
in the future.

To celebrate there will be a dairy pot luck lunch following school in the sanctuary. The entire CNT community is invited, and we expect a large turnout. Please bring a dairy dish to share.

I look forward to seeing you.
