Partnering with Fanshawe Students on Lessons in Leadership Twitter Chat

By Matt Quin, IABC London Chapter President

This month, IABC London is pleased to be partnering with students from Fanshawe College on a very special leadership event.

On November 13, students will host a Twitter chat featuring the 18th Premier of Ontario, the Hon. William Davis.  Not only will he be sharing his views gathered from decades of experience, Davis will also be taking questions from the virtual audience.

Bill Davis was the longest serving Ontario Premier, holding office from 1971-1985. As Minister of Education, he established Trent and Brock Universities, TVO, and 22 Community Colleges in the province.  This will be the first time he has ever answered questions through social media. This is a chance to engage with one of Canada's finest leaders and to join in on the discussion with your own thoughts.

goals.

A leader can be found in the boardroom, on the court or field, and in all facets of the community.

"If you're an adrenaline junkie you have picked the right field!" For IABC London member Shannon Sasseville, working in communications is fast-paced and unique in that it is both rewarding and challenging. "It almost becomes more of a lifestyle than just a career."

Sasseville is a member of the senior management team for the Erie St. Clair Local Health Integration Network (LHIN). She is primarily responsible for communications, public affairs, issues management and organizational development.

LHINs plan, integrate and fund local health care, improving access and patient experience.  Among many accomplishments, Sasseville proudly supported a team that helped find family doctors and nurse practitioners for over 15,000 people in the region.  She also worked with the community and local health care providers to maintain services in a small community emergency department.
