February: a Month to Honor Inventions and Social Innovation

Dear Neighbor,
February 11th was Inventor's Day, and in the past February has been touted as "Social Innovation" month.  (Social innovation: new processes that are good for society and build social relationships).  In that spirit, we're ready to put on our thinking caps  to develop ways Neighborhood Services can enhance our line of services for neighborhoods - but first, we need to know what services are important to you!
Please allow 5-10 minutes of your time to participate in our 2016 Neighborhood Services survey.  (Click that link!)  We will use the results of this survey to evaluate how we can most efficiently use our resources to meet the needs of neighborhoods in Sarasota County.  And be sure to forward the survey to other residents who care about their neighborhoods!

Little Innovations
Neighborhood Services has started " in novating" already.  We're happy to share our library of brochures and pamphlets at meetings and other events, but have realized we can reach more people with more information (and less paper!) by providing an electronic library of links that answer some of the questions we frequently hear from neighborhoods.   No time to look at it now?  No worries!  This document is posted on our Neighborhood Services website and will be there when you need it.
If you're looking for some inspiration on a grander scale, check out our "Neighborhoods of the Future" photo album on the Neighborhood Services Facebook page.

Next Month
Stay tuned for our March newsletter - we've got an exciting announcement and we can't  keep it a secret much longer!
Until we Connect again,
Your Neighborhood Services Team
