Cornerstone Update

Work continues on the grants module within the new Oracle financial system.  A few recent updates of note include information related to subawards, including PO conversion issues, the process for new POs, and information on the approval processes for invoices greater than $5,000 against subaward POs. This information is available  here.

While development of reports for sponsored programs is ongoing, report 031 is available and several new separate reports are finishing development and review with members of the field.  In addition we have been receiving feedback from the units to continue to troubleshoot outstanding report issues which identifies other underlying issues. The RAIN ( Research Administration Information Network ) group will meet on Wednesday March 22 at 2 p.m. in CoRE 701. To get RAIN updates subscribe here.   There will be more discussion for research administrators on current status and plans at the meeting.
Continuous Manufacturing News

More and more drug makers are starting to adopt pharmaceutical continuous manufacturing (PCM) in drug manufacturing. New technological developments and operational demands are resulting from new partnerships among academic centers and industry leaders, particularly in the past two years. "One of our goals is to make this technology easier and more transparent within the next five to ten years," said Fernando Muzzio, Ph.D., director of Rutgers Center for Structured Organic Particulate Systems (C-SOPS) and distinguished professor of chemical and biochemical engineering at Rutgers University. Recently, C-SOPS and U.S. Pharmacopeia formalized their collaboration to make the PCM technology more affordable and widely available to manufacturers around the world.  For more information visit their  website .
