A Championship Team

What a year for the City of Cleveland! I am filled with pride. Hasn't it been wonderful to watch the rest of the country and the world learn what we already know: Cleveland Rocks!

Yes, I am aware the Indians did not win the World Series. In fact, my family and I enjoyed a true Cleveland evening: Finding Neverland at Playhouse Square was spectacular, and we then walked down to Gateway Plaza to watch our team battle in Game 7 of the World Series. Thee energy was amazing, and we just couldn't help think: How lucky are we?

Success. What does it mean to you? Is it always coming out on top? Is second place only the first loser?

Does success look a little less obvious sometimes? Is it celebrating the team's effort to reach common objectives? Is it reveling in the small wins that remind you why you are in business at all?

I think the reason I'm feeling so proud of our town is that we really seem to be pulling together. Not just in sports, and certainly that does not mean we agree on politics.

We are pulling together to show up. To talk about the challenges we face and discern what opportunities we can create to move forward. To celebrate the collective victories that come when we worry more about who benefits and less about who gets the credit.

Congratulations, to all of us. Let's keep it going through this season of giving.

Please enjoy all the important news and opportunities listed in this month's newsletter. I promise, it is worth your time and attention. As always, please be in touch to share what is happening with you.

Now let's get busy...there is much work to do!

Home Instead Senior Care Receives Cascade Capital Business Growth Awards

Home Instead Senior Care has been recognized for the eighth year in a row as a winner of The Business Growth Award, presented by Smart Business and Cascade Capital Corporation. This award was created in recognition of the existing and increasingly significant role area small companies play towards the continuing economic growth and vitality of our local area. It honors small businesses located in Summit, Medina, Portage, Wayne, Ashland, Stark and Holmes counties that have prominently increased sales and/or employment over the past five years.
"We are very pleased to be recognized," says Therese Zdesar, RN, BSN, president of the company's Portage County office. "The dedication our CAREGivers have to our seniors and understanding the needs of families on a personal level are all part of why we've received this award. We're proud to be considered one of the area's top performers."
The Business Growth Awards event attracts more than 300 top CEOs and decision-makers from around the region, making it the premier networking event in the Akron/Canton area. This year's event was held at The John S. Knight Center in Akron on Tuesday, October 4, 2016.
