Welcome to our very first e-newsletter.  In the past 4 months the center has grown in more ways than one.  The center welcomed a new director, Ashley-Nicole Flowers, expanded the building to include a covered patio, added a Facebook page, and is constantly adding more educational and recreational programs.  Our mission at the Connie Hudson Senior Center is to provide the highest quality of recreational, educational, health, and wellness programs for individuals 55 and older.   If you have any questions or concerns regarding the Senior Center please stop by for "Coffee with the Director" on Thursdays at 2:00 p.m.

June 2015 Highlights

Recap of June

On June 5, 2015 staff and seniors participated in World Environment Day bringing in

electronics, plastic bottles, and cans for recycling.

National Donut Day  was celebrated at the Senior Center as the Staff welcomed seniors

 with free donuts.

Participants honored our Nation's flag with a Breakfast for the Flag Day Celebration.

CHMRSCC kicked off National Wellness Month with a Boot Camp provided by our summer

intern, Ashley Snow. The boot camp shows participants how to work using 60 seconds circuit training. The boot camp was successful in allowing CHMRSCC
seniors to gain better fitness habits.

CHMRSCC hosted a Lifeline Screening event on June 22, 2015. These preventive health screens are used to detect the risk of serious diseases.

65 participants took advantage of Life Line event at the Center.

Everyone dressed up in their hula skirts and Hawaiian shirts for the Luau Dance on June 26, 2015.

CHMRSCC wants to thank Homecare Companions for sponsoring this dance and the Lone Wolf for providing the entertainment.
