A Sanctuary for Wildlife
Incredible diversity offers food, habitat for critters

Not much has been changed about this Walpole property in many years. Large, mature trees dominate the landscape. The only structure on the entire plot is an old stone-lined spring. Part of the beauty of this property is how undisturbed it remains. Now, thanks to a generous donor, ...

With a Single Bound
This cute weasel is a ferocious hunter

The ermine ( Mustela ermine) , or short-tailed weasel, has an incredible super power --  it is able to blend into its surroundings any time of year.

In the summer it has light brown fur, but in the fall a white coat grows in as the brown coat is shed.

The ermine is a fantastic hunter, feeding on birds, rodents, and even small mammals due to its ability to sneak up on its prey.

Upcoming Event: "The Last Crop" Film Showing
Sunday, November 12, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

An exploration into one family's journey in transferring their land to the next generation.

Come early for locally sourced hors d'oeuvres. Join us after the film for a community discussion that will bring the film to life by talking about local efforts to address issues involved with farm transfer and planning for the future.

Around this time each year someone will inevitably ask you what you are grateful for.

My answer is that I am grateful to live in such a beautiful region. What are you thankful for?

Whether it be hiking to the top of Mount Monadnock or simply taking a walk alongside old stone walls on the farm across the street, I am constantly reminded of how lucky we are to call southern New Hampshire our home.

Happy Thanksgiving!
