From the Executive Director
The Landmark Society is proud to serve nine counties in Western New York. We are actively engaged in preservation activities which support our mission to protect the unique architectural heritage of our region and to promote planning practices that foster healthy, viable, and sustainable communities.
Although we are one of the oldest and most well-established preservation organizations in the United States, The Landmark Society's work is more relevant today than it has ever been The economic pressures in Western New York have threatened to derail key initiatives and have diverted potential funding streams. We must continue to be the steadfast voice for responsible development practices and environmentally adaptive reuse as the best strategies for creating sustainable living for all.
The Landmark Society would not be successful from event revenue from membership dues alone. We need additional help from you as a donor in order to engage in the work that you admire and expect from us. Your gift will benefit our current initiatives which include identifying endangered sites, implementing solutions that integrate our heritage into smart growth and educating the public, local municipalities and developers about the value of rehabilitation over ruin.
This is my first year as Executive Director of your Landmark Society and I would be honored if you chose to make a gift to help be a part of the revitalization of Western New York
Thank you for your support in playing a role in the future of our community!
