Greetings!

Thank you for your support of Solano Land Trust.

Since Solano Land Trust's
founding 27 years ago, we have protected over 22,000 acres in Solano County to ensure the land remains in ranching and farming and to provide accessible natural areas for our community - forever.

It's a big promise we make, and a commitment we take very seriously. The work we do is an integral part of the community, and we need your support so we can continue to preserve the lands that capture the best of Solano County: farms, ranches, wetlands and open space.

Solano Land Trust has the pleasure of helping to preserve the special elements in the community we share - holding open space in trust for community access and helping farmers retain their land and way of life to pass on to future generations. We make sure some of these unique places remain intact forever - for generations to come. Help leave a legacy that represents the values you hold dear!

What we do helps to ensure that we have clean air and clean water, that there is local food and fiber, and that there is a certain quality of life for everyone. What we do is about traditions, memories, stories, values - it's about families and businesses, scout troops and youth groups. It's about bringing the past forward to the future. We are proud of the work we do, and we can only accomplish it with the continued support of our members.

As we reflect on this past year and make plans for 2014, we hope our program partners, volunteers, and members feel a sense of accomplishment for a job well done. Here's a quick look back at 2013:

  • We provided over 100 community activities, engaging over 15,000 residents and visitors at our educational and recreational hikes, mountain bike and horseback rides, and family events.
  • Our newest docent team-Team Rockville Trails-has been busy leading tours at Rockville Trails Preserve and introducing people to this unique and beautiful landscape.
  • The high point of 2013 was earning the distinguished seal of Accreditation by the national Land Trust Accreditation Commission. This was a rigorous process that took over 200 hours of staff and volunteer time and illustrates that we are a robust organization that can keep our promise to steward our protected lands forever. Only 230 of the 1,700 land trusts in the country are accredited and we are extremely proud of this accomplishment; it will help us to be a stronger land conservation organization!

Your continued support of Solano Land Trust will help us carry on our important work of being responsible stewards of the land and connecting the community to it today, tomorrow, and forever. Your gift to the 2013 Annual Appeal is urgently needed to support all of Solano Land Trust's work in 2014.

Thank you and Happy Holidays!

Sincerely,
