Racial Equity in Methodism

Rev. Carla Mitchell, pastor in the African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church in Milwaukee will join us for lunch and to team teach with Rev. Dr. Fowler on the topic of race in the birth of American Methodism. The AME Church was founded by Bishop Richard Allen and will be the focus of the discussion on April 2. This is part of the Education portion of our initiative toward Racial Equity in Madison and the church.

Come together for this final Lenten season Wednesday gathering for fellowship and a simple supper (freewill offering). Following the meal, Pastor Mark will lead a study of Scripture.

Invitation to Full Response
First Church is growing and in response, we are expanding opportunities for engagement for all ages on Sunday mornings starting April 30.
The morning begins with 9 a.m. worship. At 10:15 a.m. adults, children and youth will be able attend classes and other educational and spiritual formation gatherings.
(A list of class offerings will be available at the Information Desk on Sunday.) The second worship service begins at 11:15 a.m. and includes a time for Children's Church on the lower level during the Pastor's message. Childcare and refreshments will be available all morning.

Rev. Mark Fowler explains how the new Sunday morning schedule will offer new opportunities for personal growth and expansion of First Church's calling in our community. A summary of the sermon will be available at the Information Desk on Sunday.

Wesleyan Heritage in England: Travel and Learn Together

Meet Israeli Exchange Student

Congratulations to Sabra Lesse and Ross Wydeven on the birth of their daughter, Vivian Lucille Wydeven on March 20. She is welcomed by proud grandparents Karen and Paul Wydeven and aunt Laura Wydeven.
Our love and sympathy are extended to the family of Joyce Leadley who died March 29.

(Wilma) Jeanette Jarrell, spouse of retired clergy member Thomas R. Jarrell, died on Thursday, March 23, 2017 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. The Jarrells served at Madison: First, Tomah, Eau Claire: Lake Street, and Sheboygan: St. Luke. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 1 in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas.

No Parking in Masonic Center or Hiebing Lots this Sunday
The Masonic Center will be using both the upper and lower levels of the parking structure for an event this Sunday, April 2. Parking vouchers are available every Sunday at the Information Desk for free parking in the Urban Land Interests ramp across from the church at Pinckney and Dayton.
