Results of the Contract Negotiations Survey
As you should know, our collective bargaining agreement ends in 2016 and therefore, we will be entering contract negotiations in the coming months. To prepare for negotiations, we distributed a survey in May and left it open until mid-August. If you did not respond, you still have the opportunity to make your voice heard! These results will be shared more fully in our chapter meetings to seek further member input. (All chapter meetings are open to ALL members. See the 4Cs calendar on our website for meeting dates).

You may view the results of the survey here. Approximately one-third of the membership responded to the survey. Please note that we recognize that wages and job security are top priorities for most of our members. Further, protecting the twenty-four contact/credit hours for full-time faculty is a recognized priority. Other priorities were identified from our membership survey of 2013 and contract language that was brought to the attention of our leaders and organizers.

Healthcare and retirement coverage will not be negotiated in this contract. The State Employees Bargaining Agent Coalition (SEBAC) negotiates healthcare and retirement benefits on behalf of ALL unionized state employees and this contract is not set to expire until 2022.

You may notice that a large number of respondents skipped some questions. This is because the survey was designed to direct members to answer only the questions that applied directly to them.

Please note that we removed any personally identifying information from the comments before publishing them. Job titles and contact information is also not shared in these results.

Thank YOU for taking the time to respond to the survey!
