TeamDoorwaysCooper House Celebrates 20 Years

Supporters, board members (current and former), government officials, residents and staff all gathered on a clear spring day to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Cooper House, formerly known as the DOORWAYS Supportive Housing Facility.

On Saturday, May 6th, residents of Cooper House joined social worker, Allison Givens, in a "Stitch-n-Such" activity. Allison taught all how to make English paper pieced quilt blocks out of scrap materials. Participants also discussed current events and asked questions of each other to get to know each other better... such as "what did you want to be when you grew up?", favorite foods, dream vacations, etc.

TeamDOORWAYS Women's Health Fair

Recently staff in the Jumpstart Program had the pleasure of collaborating with staff in the Residential Program to welcome Brittany Thornton from the City of St. Louis Department of Health along with Walgreens to host a Women's Health Fair. This was a highly participatory fair engaging women as they learned the need for, use of and effectiveness of the FC2 Female Condom.  Additionally, women were given opportunities to receive education and screenings on several women's health issues. The overarching goal was to provide a safe learning environment to empower and encourage the women to live a happy healthy life while living with HIV/AIDS. The event was very successful. We look forward to more opportunities to collaborate with other community providers.

If you have an interest in collaborating with one of our programs, contact Pat Plumley.
