Mid-Atlantic Chamber of Commerce

We'd like to introduce you to the  Mid-Atlantic Chamber of Commerce who offered free
haircuts to our youth participants on August 15th. This service assisted in boosting their confidence as they embarked on a new school year. As a member driven organization, the Mid-Atlantic Chamber of Commerce is t he voice of businesses in the Mid-Atlantic region, helping its members grow by providing networking opportunities,  leadership development, and various benefits.

Why did  Mid-Atlantic Chamber of Commerce  choose to support FACETS?
Serving the community is a core value for the Mid-Atlantic Chamber of Commerce. So it was important for us to partner with an organization that works with families. Going back to school can be a tough time for any parent,  and we hoped that providing free haircuts to kids going back to school would be a fun event for the families.

What do you feel your contribution to FACETS did for the larger community?
We hope that we increased the visibility of FACETS in the community as well as the great work that the organization does.

How did you initially hear about FACETS and get involved?
The Chamber Director, Mahmut Yeter, brought FACETS to our attention. And once we saw the great work they were doing, we were thrilled to be involved.

How has your volunteer service to FACETS impacted the members of Mid-Atlantic Chamber of Commerce?
The giving of services and time can be equal to, if not greater than, monetary rewards in regards to community service. Our members show consistent dedication to the community, and this opportunity was another example of just that.

We hope to partner with FACETS again in the future, and wish you continued success on all your endeavors.

Highlights of the month

Back To School Party
We would like to send our greatest appreciation to Inside Amazon (Amazon Women in Engineering)Mid-Atlantic Chamber of Commerce's stylists, Metaphase Consulting, Taurean, and BoyScout Troop 1530 and friends who supported our Back To School parties. With their help, we were able to provide over  150  students with much needed school supplies - some of which also received a free haircut. Thanks to all of our generous donors and corporate partners for making their transition back to school a meaningful success!

Rock the Block
On Friday, August 26th, Old Town Square was packed with hundreds people at   Rock the Block . It was a wonderful evening with  music, drinks , and great food. FACETS' Volunteers sold drink tickets and served drinks that evening.  Proceeds from the drink sales helped FACETS raise funds to support our life-saving programs. We want to say a big thank you to the City of Fairfax and everyone who joined our team that night!
