Excella's team on MLK Day 2017
Martin Luther King, Jr. Day was extra special this year as FACETS was able to complete two projects with the incredible help of Excella Consulting. Excella participates in days of service every year, supporting many non-profits in the community. FACETS was honored to be one of those organizations this year and we couldn't be more pleased with the outcome!

Why did Excella choose to support FACETS for MLK Day?
Excella choose FACETS for MLK Day because the work that FACETS does aligns with the mission of our community investment program - ImpaX. ImpaX helps homeless families obtain self-sufficiency and stability. Our program is inspired by our approach to consulting - to build lasting relationships, tackle big problems, and make a lasting impact. By focusing on a single cause, we maximize our contribution while helping Excellians find compelling ways to give back.

What do you feel your contribution to FACETS did for the larger community?
Our contribution to FACETS helped the larger community through making more people aware of the work that FACETS does.

How did you initially hear about FACETS and get involved?
We initially heard about FACETS through Volunteer Fairfax, who helped plan the dirty hands portion of our annual Afternoon of ImpaX.

How has your volunteer service to FACETS impacted the employees of Excella?
Excellians were impacted in a significant way. Many noted that the best part of their day was knowing that they made a difference for others and that they feel a greater sense of pride in Excella because of the volunteer work that we do.

We very much enjoyed working with FACETS and hope we're able to work together again in the future!

Here's what new

Education and Community Development Team

Our Education and Community Development Team has the privilege to engage the majority of volunteers who come to us. We couldn't be more proud of not only the incredible volunteers who make our vision a reality, but the hard-working team of staff members who seek to break the cycle of poverty in our community. While we said good-bye to our fearless leader, Erin Hansen, we welcomed Bahira Parker to the team and made some changes in location assignments to our existing team. Please note the changes below:

Barros Circle - Alaha Ahrar, Community Development Advocate
Ragan Oaks - Tijani Musa , Community Development Advocate
Robinson Square - Shanel Hudson , Community Development Advocate
Wedgewood - Melanie Santiago , Senior Community Development Advocate.   Bahira Parker - Team Leader

Joe Fay
 FACETS' Executive Director
On Monday, February 20th, FACETS welcomed Joe Fay as our new Executive Director.

After selling his company, Joe began a successful career in government contracting-where after 20 years, he became a highly respected leader in this arena. With a strong passion for advocating for our community members - who so often go unnoticed - Joe began to immerse himself in the nonprofit sector.
