Update on Major Ron Toy
Dear Friends and Family,

Thank you for reaching out to the Toy family regarding Ron’s health. Your friendship and prayer are the most precious gifts you have given us these past few days.

As you know, Ron experienced a minor stroke Tuesday affecting his balance, mobility, coordination, muscles and speech. Doctors are very positive for his recovery, and are transferring him to a rehabilitation hospital for the next 7-10 days. They want to take advantage of a quick start with physical and speech therapy to proactively retrain his brain.

He is transferring tonight to:

Healthsouth, Tustin Rehabilitation Hospital, 14851 Yorba Street, Tustin, CA, Room 207A, (714)832-9200

In between his busy, 8-hour, daily therapy sessions, he will enjoy reading your email greetings.

Thank you for your ongoing love and support to the Toy Family. We know God is in charge here and we thank you for your prayers!

God’s blessings to you."

Keilah

Update on David Mulnard

Good friends and family:

We received news from the oncologist today that, based on the PET scan done last Friday, David’s’ GIST tumors are active and growing again, both in the liver and in the small intestine.  The oncologist said it’s time for the next treatment strategy, so starting tomorrow David will take the biologic agent, Gleevec, twice a day, instead of once a day as he has done for the past 11 months.

Why are we praising God at this time when the news was not good? Because He is God, and we know that He is in control, and will never leave us through this journey.  And because, although the tumors are growing again, David remains in excellent health, with blood counts continuing to climb, restored weight and muscle, in competition shape for the upcoming water ski season.  In other words, what was found on the PET scan was not apparent to David at all.  He feels no pain or discomfort, and feels assured that we have found this tumor progression so early, that he is in the best possible physical and mental condition to beat this again.

We remain confident in God’s presence through this journey, and need continued prayers that David will be able to tolerate the double dose without significant side effects, and that the doubled regimen will be effective to knock the tumors down again.

Blessings,

Ruth

Update on Kathy Leung

By Calvin Leung

This picture was taken on Monday evening, March 6 at the Newport Nursing and Rehab Center. Being so close to the Hoag Hospital, this rehab
center is rather crowded with patients recovering from different kinds of surgery.
Sixty two (62) metal staples were removed from Kathy's back in mid afternoon today, Monday, which is 12 days after her second surgery. Kathy said she felt no pain. She is a tough cookie!
Dr. Dobkin, her main surgeon, wants to see her this Thursday, March 9. She had better learn to walk again and fast! Her legs and feet are still quite swollen. She has a new roommate who coughs quite a bit. Hope she can sleep tonight.
Thanks for your prayers.

Our young people are doing their best to survive in this fallen world. During this weekend we want to teach our teens not only how to survive, but how to thrive and overcome in a world that is no longer their own! Teens will learn real survival skills while also learning spiritual disciplines. They will also hear survival stories from old-school Salvationists such as Joe the Turk and Eliza Shirley.

Our special guests this year include Captain Keith Maynor, who is the National Youth Secretary stationed at NHQ. We will also have our Territorial guests, Majors Martha and Kyle Trimmer, as well as Majors Roy and Paula Wild. And as always, our times of worship will be led by the amazing Divisional Worship Team, Surround The City.

See Felipe Braga for registration forms. Cost for the weekend: $45.  All Registration is due to Felipe by February 15, 2017.

Territorial Congress
June 1- 4  2017

The So Cal Division has the great opportunity to have the upcoming Territorial Congress with General Cox and Commissioner Cox right in our own division. Make plans now to attend "Come to the Water".  You won't want to miss it!

We have now launched a registration portal for the Southern California Division. If delegates do not wish to attend all the meetings they should use this portal for registration, they can select individual meetings. If they are planning on attending the entire weekend they can register using the original registration database.
