Missions Partnership Fair and Soup & Cornbread Luncheon

The Mission Partnership Fair will be held in conjunction with the Annual Georgia Baptist World Hunger Fund Soup and Cornbread Luncheon. The Mission Partnership Fair is an opportunity for the congregation to learn about Tabernacle’s various Local Ministry and Global Mission Partners, in addition to providing a venue for congregants to engage with these various entities. During lunch, the Council will present a brief program that highlights Mission Trips from the previous year and preview upcoming trips in 2019. There will be sign-up tables available for those interested in upcoming mission trips. Local Ministry Partners will also be present with informational booths that connect congregants with volunteer and support opportunities. These local ministry partners include Alice’s House, Campus Outreach, Carroll County Soup Kitchen, Carrollton Baptist Association, Gideon’s International, Open Hands United Christian Ministries, Georgia Baptist Children’s Home, Rockridge Assembly, and THS Homeless Resource Bridge. Lunch will be provided with an offering to the Georgia Baptist World Hunger Fund.

prayer at 4:30 pm, followed by dinner at 5:00 pm, and discipleship classes at 6:00 pm. If you have yet to sign-up for a discipleship class, it's not too late. Books are available to purchase at a table during Wednesday Night Supper and in the classrooms. Following is a list of current classes:

B.L.A.S.T. Fall Sunday School Teacher Training

B.L.A.S.T. training is on Sunday, September 16, from 3:00 pm-5:45 pm. The theme is "Our Mission: We Teach God's Word." The training will be led by Keith Murdock of First Baptist Church (Duluth, Georgia). This training is for all Sunday School and Bible Study teachers and leaders. Childcare will be provided. Call Crystal Gilley in the church office by Wednesday, September 5, to reserve childcare.

Friday Morning Bible Study

Friday Morning Bible Study begins Friday, September 7, at 9:30 am in room 209. The group study is Searching for Heaven on Earth by David Jeremiah. Men and women of all ages are invited to attend. Evalyn Parrish is the facilitator. Cost of the book is $11.00.

Babes with Bibles and Babes

Babes with Bibles and Babes (BBB) is a group of women committed to discovering how to bring God glory in our everyday lives. As wives, mothers, and friends we strive to nurture, encourage and train each other to be Godly women. We will meet Wednesday mornings, beginning September 5, from 8:45 am-10:15 am in the Parlor. MUSIC MINISTRY

PraiSingers and Tabernacle Ringers Resume

On Wednesday, September 5, the Senior Adult Choir (10:30 am) and Handbell Choir (12:00 pm) resumes weekly rehearsals. PraiSingers is open to any adult age 55+, and our Handbell Choir is looking for alternate ringers by audition. Both groups sing and play in worship at Tabernacle and around the community. CHILDREN'S MINISTRY

Children's Bible Presentation, September 9

On Sunday, September 9, 2 ^nd -5 ^th graders will receive a worship backpack that includes their new Power Bible for use in Sunday School and worship services. Please welcome Tab kids to worship when you see them.

WAM! Worship Arts & Missions

Starting at four years old, our kids have the opportunity to participate in Worship Arts and Missions. During Worship Arts, kids learn to praise God through playing instruments, singing, art, drama, puppets, and movement. Missions Education teaches kids how to pray for and support missionaries around the world, and more importantly, how to BE missionaries.

MEN'S MINISTRY

Men's Ministry Breakfast

Please join us for the Men’s Ministry Breakfast on Saturday, September 15, at 8:00 am in the Fellowship Hall. We will be discussing our 2018 agenda and look forward to input regarding projects that will make an impact on our community.

SENIOR ADULT MINISTRY

Senior Adult Covered Dish Luncheon

The Senior Adult Covered Dish Luncheon is Tuesday, September 11. Pastor Rob Sauls will be speaking. The church will furnish meat, bread, tea, and coffee. Please bring side dishes and desserts.

Fall Overnight Trip to Helen, Georgia

The Senior Adults will travel to Helen, Georgia for an overnight stay in the North Georgia Mountains. The trip is October 15-16. The cost is $60.00 plus meals. Deposit of $30.00 is due by Sunday, September 30. Sign-up at the table out side of the church office starting Sunday, September 9.

Mission Teams

Please continue to pray this week for our Mozambique Mission Team as they minister through service.

Community Needs

Open Hands, our community food and assistance center, needs pop-top fruits, meats, and new or gently used stuffed animals. Alice's House, a local children's home, need various gift certificates to be used for clothing, groceries, and/or fast food. Items can be dropped off in the hallway by the Fellowship Hall.

The menu is as follows: Spaghetti and meat sauce, salad bar, garlic bread, and chocolate cake.

The cost is $6.00 per adult and $3.00 per child. Reservations are not required, however we encourage you to sign up for the following week when you pay for the current week, so we have an estimate.

2018-2019 Projected Financial Plan

The Projected Giving and Expenditure Plan (the Plan) for Fiscal Year 2018-2019 is being presented to the church for consideration by the Finance Committee with the approval and recommendation of the Church Ministry Council, the Deacon Administration Council and the deacon body.
