On Tuesday, October 27, 2015 a Spirit of Humility, Thanksgiving, Honor and Love filled the chambers of the Jacksonville City Hall as Bro. Charlie E. McClendon was honored by the Jacksonville City Council as a Living Legend. Over 300 members of the Northside Church of Christ surrounded Bro.  McClendon and his loving family as he received this Prestigious Honor.

As the City Council member Began reading this Historic Resolution, members from the congregation rose to Their feet and marched down the aisles to support our Servant Leader, Charlie. E . McClendon.           
 The gravity of the moment Could be felt by everyone present. Truly the Spirit of God was in the room as This amazing religious leader was showcased. In His remarks to the City Council, he of course gave all honor and Glory to God !  The energy in the room was palpable and the moment will forever be Remembered by Those Who Were blessed to be in attendance.

Whereas,   under Brother Charlie McClendon's leadership the Northside Church of Christ has grown Both physically and spiritually and Have Become a pillar of strength for the Northside commnity, THEREFORE now

... Be it Resolved   by the Council of the City of Jacksonville:     
Section 1.  The city of Jacksonville hereby honors and commends Brother Charlie McClendon for 42 years of outstanding service as Senior Minister of the Northside Church of Christ and extends its very best wishes to him and his congregation for many more years of health, happiness and faith -filled service.
