The mission of Corpus Christi Catholic School is to nurture every child by providing the opportunities to grow in faith, achieve academic success, and serve others as disciples of Jesus
Dear Parents,

What a phenomenal first few weeks we have had! There are wonderful things happening at our school, and we look forward to experiencing them with our students and their families. Thank you for giving your child the gift of a Catholic education and choosing CCCS!

Bible Verse of the Month
Each month students learn a Bible Verse. We recite it together at school during our morning prayers. We also pray a particular prayer together for the duration of the month. During the month of September, our verse is Proverbs 3:5

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.”

Our prayer focus is the Our Father .

We would love for you to practice the verse with your children at home.
It’s Change for a Cure Week
Our annual Change for a Cure project to raise money for The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation takes place this week. This is a charity that is near to our hearts, as we have two families in our school affected by this disease. Each day, students are asked to bring:

Monday - pennies
Tuesday - nickels
Wednesday - dimes
Thursday - quarters
Friday - dollars

Checks for this very worthy cause are also accepted. Thank you for your generosity!
Child and Adolescent Protection Policy Training
All adults who plan to volunteer in any capacity at Corpus Christi Catholic School or Parish must receive training in the Child and Adolescent Protection Policy-CAPP. We will offer CAPP training tonight, September 10 at 6:00 pm . The class will be held in the adult education room in the Community Center. If you are unable to attend the September 10th session, monthly sessions are held at St. Dominic Catholic School on the fourth Wednesday of each month. For parents who were trained in previous years, you must re-certify each year. You may go to www.mobarch.org to access the online training. You will have to read two short articles and pass a quiz. Once you have passed the quiz, the school will be notified that you have been retrained. The training must be completed by October, 31st. Remember, you must receive the CAPP training to attend a field trip with your child or volunteer in any way.
Grandparents Day
We will celebrate Grandparents Day on Tuesday, September 25th . We will begin with our school Mass at 8:30, followed by a reception in the banquet hall. Afterwards, grandparents are welcome to tour the school and visit their grandchildren’s classroom. We look forward to seeing all of our Grandparents and Grandfriends on this day.
To celebrate Grandparents’ Day, flowers will be placed in front of the altar. If you would like to make a $5 contribution in honor of or in memory of your child(ren)’s grandparents, please fill out the following form and return it to your child’s teacher in an envelope marked Grandparents’ Day Flowers (no later than Sept. 19.) The names of the grandparents will be displayed on the altar, along with the flowers.

Book Fair
It is almost Book Fair time! The book fair will be open each school day beginning September 24 and ending at noon on September 28. There will be a special Sunday shopping day on September 23 from 10 am-1 pm. Parishioners and CCD families are welcome to shop, as well as our school families. On September 25, there will be a “Fairy Grandparent” event following our Grandparents Day Mass. That evening, we will have a family “Night Owls” event from 4-7, where families can shop in their pajamas if they choose. The complete schedule can be found here.

Mrs. Mansfield is looking for volunteers to help at the Book Fair. If you are interesting helping, you can sign-up HERE .

Pep Rally
We will celebrate our CYO fall sports with a pep rally on September 21 at 2:00. To show our cougar spirit, students may wear their spirit shirt and blue jeans to school that day for a $1.00 donation. Proceeds will benefit the 2018 Toy Bowl Court of CCCS. If students play a CYO or McT fall sport, they may bring their jersey to school and put it on over their spirit shirt for the pep rally.
Blessing of the Animals
Our annual Blessing of the Animals, in honor of St. Francis of Assisi, is Tuesday, October 2.    The blessing will be held after the 8:15 School Mass. Parents of students in grades K-8 may bring pets to school and meet students in the parking lot around 9:00 as the students are leaving Mass. All animals must be in a cage or on a leash. Children may not bring animals to school with them, and no animals will be allowed to stay at school. All animals must go home after the blessing. If you are not able to bring your child's pet, children may choose to bring a picture of their pet. A special blessing will be offered for all pets, even those not present.
