Please do not block driveways as you are waiting in the line. This is inconveniencing our neighbors and don't want to do that. Please pay attention as you move up and stop before you get to a driveway.

If a neighbor needs to get out of their driveway, you should move to let them.

Did that catch your eye? Yes, we had K-2 square dancing and
4-5 dissecting cow eyeballs.

Thanks to Coach Thompson, Coach Norris and Coach Roberson for getting our cowgirls and cowboys ready to dance.

Thanks to our Hands on Science volunteers for cutting, probing, and dealing with the fun of a dissection.

WE NEED YOU!!   HELP - no one turned in an application so we have no new members!!!

Parent Education Night

Wednesday, March 1st, 5:00-6:00 pm
Spring Branch Middle School Cafeteria

Memorial Drive, Frostwood, and Hunter's Creek are coming together to host a
Parent Workshop with Greg Tang.
Greg is called the  "Math Missionary" for the dedication and passion he has shown in sharing his love of math with students, teachers, and parents.
This is an exciting opportunity for you to learn more about Greg's strategies, online games, and other resources, like Tangy Tuesday and the holiday challenges that we have been using at MDE.
Please make every effort to attend this workshop.   It will be worth your time.
HCE has only 100 positions.
Please enroll to attend at this link.
We will close enrollment when we reach 100 spots
There is still room!

For more information about Greg Tang, visit his website:

Greg will have some of the Greg Tang math games available for
purchase at the workshop.

March 3rd      2:45 - 6:00 pm    HCE Field

The fair will be ready to open at 2:45 this year. Our goal is to plan for a safe, orderly dismissal.  I recognize that many students may not go home the usual way, so this  FORM (CLICK HERE) will make sure teachers know ahead of time how your child will go home on this day.

Keep in mind that  NO STUDENTS WILL BE ALLOWED TO GO DIRECTLY TO THE FAIR ON THEIR OWN.  Please complete and return the form on the back of this letter to your child's teacher by  March 2nd

Here is the process:
  1. Please get to school between 2:30 and 2:40 so you can find a parking place.
  2. Enter through the front doors or the gate between the gym and end of 5th grade building.
  3. Be ready to show picture ID, if you are not recognized when you enter.
  4. Proceed to your child's classroom. Wait outside the door until 2:40 dismissal announcement.
  5. Sign your child out for the day on the classroom sign-out page and proceed quickly to the field for Family Fair with your child.
  6. We need to have all parents/students out of the hallway by 2:55 for regular dismissal.
Also, if you would like for your child to wear flip-flops to the Fair, please pack them in his/her backpack and at the end of the day, all children can change shoes.  Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me or your child's teacher.
You will get this in paper form next week!

Parent Education - Improving Relationships With Your Child

March 6, 6:30 pm @ Memorial Drive Elementary, 11202 Smithdale Rd.

On March 6th at 6:30 p.m. we have a unique opportunity to hear one of my favorite licensed marriage and family therapists speak on improving relationships with your children.

Colleen O'Grady is based in Houston and has been serving clients for more than 20 years.  She is a wealth of information on so many topics ranging from brain functioning, human development, family systems, to parenting skills.  Memorial Drive Elementary will be hosting this event in their cafeteria for this one-hour talk- mark your calendars.

Will you attend with me?  I'll be in the front row.

Big Art Day is an art happening to raise awareness of art education and art as a creative force in our communities on a BIG statewide scale. It is an attempt by the Texas Art Education Association (TAEA) to engage all art educators, their students and communities in a single day art event.

Mrs. Cummings will be sending home a project for students to complete at home and bring to school for Big Art Day.                                                                                                                                                               March 2, 2017

What is Family Fair?
Family Fair is a super fun, school-wide annual carnival held on the Hunters Creek Elementary field on Friday, March 3 rd from 2:45-6pm . There are games, activities, food, drinks, music and tons more!  Students, families, friends and neighbors are all invited to a fun-filled, family-friendly afternoon!
Please be on the lookout for emails containing Family Fair SignUpGenius. The parents in each class are responsible for filling out the volunteer shifts for their class booth(s) at the fair.  It is SUPER important that all of these shifts get filled in order for the booths to remain open for the kids during the entire fair.  Please take a minute and sign up for a short 45 minute time slot - the kids will love seeing you work the booths!
There will also be a Cake Walk SignUpGenius to let us know who will volunteer to donate a store-bought cake or cupcakes to be dropped off the day of Family Fair.  The more cakes, the more winners, the more fun!
In order to take advantage of all the great fun at Family Fair, you can pre-purchase wristbands on the PTA website OR through the order form sent home in Tuesday Newsday folders.  Pre-purchasing gives you the opportunity to pick up wristbands prior to Family Fair.  All pre-orders are due by Friday, February 24 th (this Friday).  You may also purchase wristbands ( CASH ONLY ) the day of Family Fair, should you need extra tabs.  Each wristband costs $10 and includes 10 tabs.  The tabs on the wristbands are the currency used to play a game, buy a hat, buy a drink or piece of pizza and much, much more!
