Please come by and pick up your child's medicines in the clinic before the last day of school. I will be disposing of all meds on June 2nd at the SBISD Police Department per district policy.
2017-2018 School Year: Forms for all medications must be signed every school year by parent and doctor.  Please bring all forms signed by parent and doctor with the medicine BEFORE the first day of school.  The clinic will be opened August 1st and you can email or call to set up a time to deliver.
***Do not send your student to the clinic with medicines at any time or hide meds in their lunch kit/backpack.  All medicines go through the nurse in the clinic.

All forms can be found at the link below. If prescription please have MD signature on prescription form.  Non-prescription for over the counter meds only needs parent signature.
Parents of 2017-2018  6th Graders..
Your future 6th grader will be getting vaccines at their next doctor visit.  Please provide their middle school nurse with their updated immunizations.  You may turn them into me if they have already received the vaccines so I can put in their file.  They are required for 7th grade but many receive prior to entry to 6th grade.

"Showing gratitude is one of the simplest yet most powerful things humans can do for each other." - Randy Pausch

Gratitude is something we all could use a little more of in life, I suspect.  I'd like to take a moment and give thanks for all that I have learned this year.  The only time I worked harder in my life was when I was a teacher (it's true!).

I am so grateful that I am given the opportunity daily to interact and positively influence your children.  I was a bit nervous about learning 650 students' names at the beginning of the year, plus teachers and parents.  I'm thankful for my interactions with each person, helping to solidify who you are and the children connected to each of you.  LOTS of learning curves, do-overs, laughs and victories have been mine this year.  Next year will be "so much better" as some of us say regularly as we bump over another hurdle in the road.

Hunters Creek has a healthy school culture and that is precious and not to be taken lightly.  I am grateful to be a part of that culture and all the various activities and people who add to it.  Our Leadership is phenomenal, our Teachers and Staff are highly talented and energetic, and our PTA and Volunteers are unstoppable.

THANK YOU for a fun year at Hunters Creek.  I look forward to the few days we have left!
PTA President's Perspective

We had another busy week at HCE!

Bike to School Day was last Friday and we had so many HCE cougars ride their bikes to school! So fun! Thanks to Keri Wager  and Niki D'Agostino  for organizing this event and for all their hard work this year as the Healthy Lifestyles chairs!

Rebecca Jackson  and Gena Rush did an amazing job with the Book Swap this year. What a fun way to kick off summer reading. Thank you so much for coordinating this school-wide event! And thank you to the many families who donated their gently-used books! The kids had fun choosing a "new" book and are ready to start reading!

Charlotte Moore has done such a fantastic job helping Mrs. Moore and Mrs. Hicks in the library this year - especially with coordinating volunteers! Thank you so much to the many library volunteers  for your dedication to helping in the library this year!

Publisher's picnic is always a fun event and the children really enjoy sharing class work with their family and friends. Some grades had a picnic in the cafeteria and some got to have one outside. Either way, it was enjoyed by all! Thanks to all the HCE staff  for making Publisher's Picnic a success.

Thanks to the 5 th  Grade Celebration chairs, Ketti Collins , Wendy Franklin , Michelle Kelly , Gena Rush , Katrina Stephenson  and Amanda Vavilala  for coordinating a FUN party, creating a memory book and for planning the breakfast, Clap-Out and graduation ceremony in order to wish our 5 th Graders a final and fabulous farewell! We greatly appreciate all the hard work that goes into celebrating these special students!

We had so many staff members and parent volunteers  help celebrate our amazing retirees, Mrs. Moore , Mrs. Reese  and Mrs. Herold with an after school party! It was such a sweet event! Thanks to everyone who helped make the retirement party possible. We sure will mess each of them. They will always be party of the HCE family!

Another HUGE thank you goes to Mrs. Cummings for the amazing job she did organizing the HCE Memorial Service. In addition to organizing such a memorable celebration, she cleaned up each memorial area and added signs to help us remember why each of these areas are so special to HCE. We are lucky to have a way to remember these special individuals!

No school on Monday. Happy Memorial Day! Enjoy the holiday...can't believe there are only 3 more days of school left!
