Flamborough Community Police Meeting

Please join me at the Flamborough Community Police Meeting, Monday June 4 6:30-8pm at the Waterdown Legion in the downstairs hall. Doors will open at 6:15pm. Vandalism in our Flamborough communities will not be tolerated. With the recent spike in criminal activity, I am continuing to work with Police to address this issue head on. Rest assured there is an active investigation to get to the bottom of this. If you have video footage of a crime in progress or anything you think may be helpful, please contact the Police 905 546 4925 or PHall@hamiltonpolice.on.ca. I can’t stress enough how important it is to report every crime no matter how small you think it may be.

$11.9 Million New Greensville Elementary School/Community Hub

Pleased to share that the new Greensville school and community hub project has received provincial approvals and will proceed to tender in early June 2018. As a result, the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board is expecting to have shovels in the ground later this summer, with the project slated to be completed and open to students in September 2019.

In addition to the 39,000-square foot school and 2,500 square-foot daycare centre, the community hub project will also include a Hamilton Public Library branch and a City of Hamilton community centre. The new building will be built behind the former school site, which will be the 71-space parking lot in the new design. The community centre component is a large space that is divisible, with a kitchen, washroom and multi-purpose rooms. With the increase of popularity of visitors to Websters Falls, there is ongoing discussion on limiting access to the parking lot on weekends and evenings.

Crosswalks Coming to Spring Creek

Ladder crosswalks for the two existing all-way stops located both to the north and south of the Cranberry Hill park, specifically at Houndtail Drive/Forest Ridge Avenue and at Niska Drive, are expected to be added by the end of June. Further to this, there will also be pedestrian crossovers added at the roundabout on Spring Creek and Stillwater Crescent/Blue Sky Trail as well this year.

Waterdown Memorial Park - WIFI and Basketball Nets

Exciting improvements for Waterdown Memorial Park- Council has unanimously approved Councillor Partridge's motion to install WIFI in the park for everyone to enjoy. It is expected to be ready by the end of July this summer. In addition to this, there has also been Basketball nets installed (painting for the court to happen in June), and the parking lot has been graded with pot-holes filled.

Union Gas Construction on Millgrove Side Road Hamilton Gate Site

Union Gas will be doing construction work at their Hamilton Gate station site, located at 500 Millgrove Side Road, from approx. July to October as part of a multi-phase plan to improve the integrity of the natural gas feed to the City of Hamilton, and increase capacity to service new commercial and industrial businesses in the future.

The majority of the work will occur within their existing station fencing, with some work occurring just outside the fencing along Millgrove Side Road. No work will be occurring on the road itself and no traffic lanes will be closed, however at times there will be signs indicating Construction Ahead and Trucks Turning to aid with equipment safely coming and going from site.
With warm regards,

Councillor Judi Partridge

This project was created to understand the successes and challenges youth in Hamilton face, learn and showcase great stories of youth and partners supporting youth 14-29 in our city, identify partnerships to create new opportunities for youth, and showcase our youth and partners and look for opportunities to enhance services with better city support.
