Flamborough E-NEWS
November 2017
Welcome to the November ENEWS. I hope everyone is having a wonderful Fall season. Congratulations to the Flamborough and Glanbrook Women's Institutes on their 120th anniversary, and the Waterdown Lions Club on their 50th anniversary. This month, please join me at the many events in the community. The Flamborough Information & Community Services 40th Anniversary Celebration, the Waterdown Christmas Tree lighting, Flamborough Santa Claus Parade and much more.

Don't forget to please call or email my office if you need help with any issues. If you see me in the community, stop and say hi.

UPDATE: Centre Road & 8 th Concession Intersection

Thank you everyone for expressing your concerns regarding the installation of a 4-way stop sign at this intersection. For the time being, city staff have agreed to keep the intersection as it is with the addition of all direction flashing lights, large tiger tail signage and rumble strips will be added to the 8 th Concession east and west of the intersection. With the steep hills leading to the intersection in both directions, it was felt this could be unsafe with vehicle collisions sliding into the intersection during the winter months. The city will continue to monitor this intersection.

Ward Boundary Review

The Ward boundaries for the city of Hamilton, set by Council are being challenged at the Ontario Municipal Board (OMB) in a Ward Boundary Review. Over the past few weeks, I have attended the OMB hearings at the Stoney Creek Municipal Centre. We are now awaiting a decision from the OMB- I will provide updates as information becomes available.

Freelton Library Pilot Program

Starting later this fall, the Freelton branch library will be open 60 hours/week to resident card holders ages 14 and older. Residents are invited to register for extended access, that will allow them to be able to pick up holds and browse the collection, borrow and return items, use the catalogue and public computers/wifi and generally use the library space. Feedback on this project is very welcome as the library explores opportunities to improve access and use of library services- please email the branch manager at dwark@hpl.ca.
With warm regards,

Councillor Judi Partridge
