COUNTY ANSWERS CALL FROM STATE AGENCY
County team deployed to assist with hurricane recovery efforts

HAGERSTOWN, MD (September 20, 2017) - The Washington County Division of Emergency Services deployed four members to assist with Florida's Hurricane Irma recovery efforts. The Maryland Incident Management Team requested that members develop personnel packages for hurricane recovery.
 
The Washington County DES team left for Homestead Air Reserve Base, Homestead, Florida this morning and will be managing a base camp during their deployment. The DES members are part of a 22-person Maryland Incident Management Team.
 
The Maryland Incident Management Team is a Type III All-Hazards Incident Management Team supporting the State of Maryland, State departments/agencies, the State's local jurisdictions, and nationwide through deployments under the Emergency Management Assistance Compact both in the field and in an Emergency Operations Center.
