CCL launches new on demand Natural Family Planning class

CINCINNATI -- The Couple to Couple League has launched a new Self-paced Online Class that brings natural family planning (NFP) instruction to engaged and married couples on demand. The new self-paced class contains the same material presented in CCL's live classes, but it is delivered in a series of video and interactive learning modules.

"We are really excited about this new class offering," said CCL Executive Director Michael D. Manhart, Ph.D. "This allows us to make our highly regarded NFP instruction available anywhere, anytime, to anyone who wants to learn."

The new class is now part of CCL's three course lineup that offers different ways to learn NFP that accommodate not only a wide range of locations, but a variety of learners as well. "Some people are do-it-yourselfers, some people really prefer to learn in a traditional classroom setting, and some people like to have the convenience of having a teacher but still don't want to leave their house," explains Director of Projects Andy Alderson. The options CCL now offers for each type of learner include:
  • Live Onsite: a traditional classroom setting
  • Live Online: a classroom setting online, learning from a teaching couple via webcam
  • NEW Self-paced Online: videos, quizzes and games taken on your time and schedule
The new class fills a void for those areas in the U.S. that have a lack of NFP teachers, but assistance will still be available to all students as they are paired up with their closest teaching couple based on zip code. The course embodies all of the attributes that represent CCL in building joyful marriages by teaching NFP, and goes hand in hand with its recent rebranding makeover.

With the rebranding efforts - including this course launch, as well as the creation of a new logo, tagline and website - CCL is staying relevant with the trends of young, millennial couples and meeting them where they're at. "We aim to change the hearts and minds of those learning NFP, and this new course is a huge leap toward that goal," Manhart said. "We are grateful to have had Our Sunday Visitor Institute partner with us on this project to help make the development of the course possible."

All three course options include a full course of instruction, consultation and follow-up, and subscriptions to CCL's Family Foundations magazine and the mobile charting app CyclePro Go ®. The new Self-paced Online Class has a special introductory fee of $99 (normally $110), and the two live class options have been reduced in price to $130.

CCL has been teaching natural family planning, couple to couple, for over 40 years. This Catholic, nonprofit organization is committed to building joyful marriages and following the call of Pope Francis "to be bold and creative in this task of rethinking...methods of evangelization."

Diocesan personnel who want to learn more about how CCL can help their NFP efforts can contact Erick Carrero, Director of Diocesan Outreach, at ecarrero@ccli.org or 800-745-8252, Ext 1034.
