Dear MSU Parents and Families,
We hope you have all stayed healthy and this nasty flu hasn't hit your household. It's been an exciting (albeit a bit chilly) wet week here at MSU. Our MSU men and women's basketball teams started off the week with a "W" and campus was rather lively with all the excitement.

In this newsletter we provide you with information regarding bill due dates, Housing Fair information, tax forms, and tips to help your student/s stay healthy. Should you have topics you would like to see in these newsletters, please let us know. We want to keep you as informed as possible.
As always, please do not hesitate to call or email us with any questions or concerns. We are available to help you navigate through available resources.

BILLS ARE DUE - MARCH 9

Don't forget, the deadline to pay off your student's account without receiving a late fee is MARCH 9 .

If you have questions or need to discuss payment options, please contact Account Services at 662.325.2071 or [email protected] .

In order to receive refunds by direct deposit, students must keep updated banking information in their myState portal.
2018 HOUSING FAIR
Deciding whether to live on-campus or off-campus while a student at MSU can be a tough decision. We want to make it a bit easier on students by hosting a Housing Fair on campus February 27.

15 off-campus housing properties will be available to help answer questions about living around the Starkville community.
Not quite ready to move off-campus? Don't worry! Housing and Residence Life will also be there to offer information about remaining in a residence hall next year.

Students are invited to walk through the fair in between their classes or while grabbing a quick bite to eat in the Colvard Student Union. We are certain this will help your student make the best decision.

NOTE: This fair is for informational purposes only. No lease agreements should be signed. We encourage all students to always read through any lease agreement with a trusted family member before signing.
HELPFUL REMINDERS
Form 1098-T

Form 1098-T was mailed to each eligible student's home address by January 31st. Students may also access this information using their myState account. Click below to help your student know how they can access this information.
Flu Season Tips

We hope you and your household have managed to stay healthy and flu-free this season. Students can get so busy that they forget simple health strategies that can help them stay healthy as the cold and flu season passes. Please be sure to remind your student of the following:
  • Wash hands frequently.
  • Fist or elbow bump instead of a handshake.
  • Limit appearance at large events where many people are crowded in tight spaces.
  • Try to avoid others who are coughing and sneezing or have been diagnosed recently with the flu.
  • Toss tissues in the garbage after each use.
  • Hibernate if sick.
  • Always correspond with professors by email immediately following a diagnosis.
