Just a reminder parents that due to Teacher In-Service there will be NO SCHOOL on September 3rd and 4th.  For those families that will be needing Child Care, the Preschool will be offering a Day Camp for students on September 3rd.  Please see flyer for more details.  Please note, there will also be NO SCHOOL on September 7th in observance of Labor Day. 

What a great turnout we had for our Yogurtini Night in July!  We have received our check in the amount of $245!  All of these monies will be directed to purchasing much needed books for ALL of our grade levels and their reading program. 

 

We would like to thank all of those Desert Heights families that came out for our DH Night at Chuck E. Cheese this past Wednesday. It was a pretty crazy evening!  We have had a number of conversations with both the Corporate Office as well as the General Manager and are awaiting feedback from them.  In the meantime, we would like to apologize to all of our families that had a negative experience. We will keep you informed as we continue our talks with them.       

Clubs and Sports flyers were sent out in last week's Tuesday Folder.  It is extremely important that you return the flyer ASAP if your student is wanting to participate.  Club confirmations are being sent out now and all fees must be paid prior to the Club starting.  Clubs start the week of September 7th!!   

We are so excited about the Parents that have reached out to volunteer already this school year!  We have our "Dream Team" that meets every Tuesday in our Staff Lounge to put together our Tuesday Folders for our teachers.  We have a wonderful group of parents that volunteered this past Wednesday to assist with our Fall Pictures.  We are so blessed to have so many people reaching out wanting to assist with our Clubs and Sports.  THIS is what sets Desert Heights apart from other schools!  We have the most amazing families that want to work with us to make their child's school and school experience the best it can be!  Want to get involved?  Stop by the front office and we will be happy to put you in touch with the appropriate people. 

We do still have families with outstanding balances from last school year. Balances could include, missing library books, field trips, clubs as well as transportation fees.   Notifications will be sent out on a weekly basis, and we would greatly appreciate balances being cleared up as soon as possible.  Thank you!       

We hope our DH Families can join us on September 9th at the McDonalds located at 75th Avenue and Bell Road from 5pm-7pm!  A      portion of all sales during this time period will be donated to DHCS and all proceeds will be directed towards the additional purchase of books for our grade levels for our reading program.  We hope to see you there! 

We are excited to announce that the new parent portal, ParentVUE, is now configured and activation codes were sent home in last weeks Tuesday Folder.  ParentVUE is replacing FamilyLink and Edline.  With a single login, families will be able to access grades and classroom resources.  Additionally, ParentVUE offers our families some exciting features that weren't available in our previous systems including an application for mobile devices and tablets. We look forward to enhancing our school-home communication through the use of ParentVUE.  Parents, if you did not receive your code  please contact the front office.

We were very fortunate to have received over $1,500 last year from our parent's participation in the Fry's Community Rewards Program.  It is extremely important that you re-enroll EVERY YEAR in order to participate.  Please be sure to following these procedures to enroll:
