2017  Coyote Creek Cleanup Day

Santa Clara Valley Water District Board Chair John L. Varela, Director Barbara Keegan and Director Tony Estremera invite the public to come together on Saturday, Sept. 30, to help clean areas of Coyote Creek that were affected by the San Jose floods earlier this year.

This is an opportunity for all volunteers to join forces with the water district and all our partners, to help the communities most impacted by these past winter floods.

This Coyote Creek cleanup effort is coordinated by the Santa Clara Valley Water District, in partnership with the City of San José, Keep Coyote Creek Beautiful, the South Bay Clean Creeks Coalition and Downtown Streets Team. There will be two creek cleanup sites to pick from.

Creek Site #1 Rock Springs/Wool Creek
665 Wool Creek Dr. San Jose, CA 95112, behind Shirakawa Elementary School
Date: Saturday, September 30, 2017
Time: 8:30 a.m. - Noon

Creek Site #2 William Street to I-280
791 William Street, San Jose 95112 - Coyote Creek Outdoor Classroom
Date: Saturday, September 30, 2017
Time: 9:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Volunteers are asked to wear long pants, sleeves, and closed-toed shoes since you could be near poison oak and around loose or muddy soil. A light breakfast and a complimentary district event T-shirt will be provided to all volunteers, as well as all the necessary materials to help pick up litter. Community service hours will be provided.
