Buy local, give creative, and give hand-made. Artisans from across the community take over our gallery, classroom, and our once-a-year courtyard "annex" to offer you the best locally-made ceramics, jewelry, garments, glass, candles, and more. Then, relax, and think about all the people who will enjoy your gifts while you get to know Prince George's County's own Calvert Brewing in the tasting lounge.

Humble Fire Live At the Listening Room this Friday!

Friday December 2, 8 pm

Humble Fire is a female-fronted art rock quartet from Washington DC. Framing singer Nefra Faltas' delicate, earnest vocals with danceable drums, melodic bass lines, and soaring guitar, Humble Fire's forthcoming second album, "Builder," is a story about the architecture of change crafted among chosen family. In 2016 Humble Fire has played many of DC's rock venues (Black Cat, RnR Hotel, DC9, Velvet) along with the Smithsonian American Art Museum and a Sofar Sounds show. Listen here.

Get to know Your Wild Neighbor
Do kids make better art than adults? Sometimes it's a tough call. The youth of Prince George's County on view now through December 31.

This exhibition features work from the children's wildlife program, "Get to Know," an educational wildlife organization founded in 1999 by painter and naturalist Robert Bateman.

During the program children had the opportunity to engage with nature in a way that may not be built into their daily lives. "Get to Know" encourages an active lifestyle while interacting with nature. The connections and discoveries made outdoors will be explored through artistic projects and exhibited in our gallery.

Handpicked III: Beyond Boundaries
Opening Reception at Touchstone Gallery
901 New York Ave. NW, Washington DC

Friday, December 9, 6 - 8:30pm

Featuring works from the studio artists of The Arc presented by the Touchstone Foundation for the Arts and The Arc Prince George's County.

Like prior " Handpicked " shows, TFA invites an artist or artists who participate in community programs with well-developed art programs, and who might not otherwise have the opportunity to exhibit their work in a formal gallery, to exhibit at the Touchstone Gallery in downtown DC. For the third "Handpicked" show this December, the artists of The Arc of Prince George's County will show their vibrant and exciting artwork that was created at the Brentwood Arts Exchange.

This exhibition is supported by the family and friends of the late Rima Schulkind, a founding member of Touchstone Gallery.
