We are looking for a Quality Enhancement Coordinator!

This flexible position is ideal for a early childhood professional with 3 or more years of experience in early childhood education or development, who likes to teach adults and work in childcare and office settings, and is willing to travel part of the time around Craven County.

The position is for 40 hours per week and the salary range is $13 to $17/hour, based on experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPERIENCE:
The purpose of this position is to provide technical assistance and training to childcare facilities in Craven County assisting them in maintaining or increasing the quality of their child care.

Quality Enhancement (QE) Coordinators accomplish this by training childcare providers and guiding childcare facilities through state requirements for licensing. The QE Coordinators use consultation and training skills, and knowledge of early childhood education in order to educate childcare facility's directors and staff and improve outcomes for children. 

Required Experience:
All candidates are required to have a bachelor's degree in early childhood education, child development or related field.  All candidates should have strong written and oral communication skills, and strong computer skills. All candidates should have a driver's license and insurance. All candidates should have the ability and willingness to work some evenings and Saturdays for training, with an occasional overnight stay.

Preferred Experience:
  • Three years experience in early childhood education.
  • An ideal candidate will have experience working with children and families, and experience training adults
  • Be able and willing to travel around Craven County
  • We are willing work with a promising candidate to train them and help them achieve required certifications.

Craven Smart Start is a 501c3 organization that was established almost 20 years ago to provide funding, coordination, education and other services in the community in order to raise the quality of childcare and improve learning and health outcomes for young children (ages 0-5) and their families in Craven County.
