My favorite time of year is finally in full bloom! With trees budding, peonies blooming and grass turning green, its time to embrace this beautiful season by letting the bright colors of spring into your home decor. And if you're thinking of selling in the near future or even in a few years, now is a perfect time to consider making some updates that will boost the value of your home in the long run (painting walls and cabinets, removing dated carpeting, replacing lighting, hardware and fixtures, etc.). Spring also means cleaning up the exterior of your property after the harsh conditions of winter to add curb appeal -- from landscaping to updating front porch accessories. Check out our Home Exterior Refresh Checklist below for some basic tips that will help make the process more manageable. And don't forget that summer holidays and entertaining are around the corner which means sprucing up your decks and patios and adding some of the prettiest accessories of the season that will "wow" your guests.

HOME EXTERIOR REFRESH CHECKLIST
Simple tips for updating your home's exterior 
 
Whether getting your home ready to sell or not, exterior updates are just as important as the interior when trying to create an inviting property for guests and potential buyers. But often cleaning up and refreshing after a long winter can seem overwhelming and costly. Therefore, we put together the following checklist with simple, inexpensive ways to instantly add curb appeal and get your home noticed on a limited schedule and budget.

Simple Maintenance
Start with some basic clean up -- give your home's siding a good power wash, touch up trim with fresh paint, remove debris from gutters, repair cracks in driveway/walkway and spread fresh mulch in beds. 

Spruce Up Landscaping
Remove dead shrubs, prune bushes, weed and add pops of color with new annuals. Assess the condition of your lawn and decide whether to reseed or add sod if uneven and patchy. Add a generous layer of natural mulch to beds to complete the whole look.

Create A Welcoming Front Porch
Update the front porch with a fresh coat of paint for the front door, bright accessories such as a beautiful welcome mat, potted flowers and plants in urns, colorful accent pillows placed on a bench and finish with a floral wreath for the door.

Prepare Deck and Patio For Entertaining
Clean off debris by power washing deck, replace broken boards and refinish if necessary.
You'll then be ready to layer on fresh accessories and decor -- lanterns, throw rugs, umbrellas, garden stools, and plastic dishware is all that is needed to create a party-ready patio for summer.

COASTAL VIBE IS STILL HOT

There's no denying that easy, coastal style is still a hot theme in home decorating. From adding accents in coral and blue hues to layering natural woven, glass and metallic textures, we love finding new ways to create a soothing, washed-ashore look with clean lines to any space. Model Homes Decorated by PJ & Company Staging and Interior Decorating

For these model homes, we started with a  neutral palette drawn from sand and shells paired with soothing blue and coral accents reminiscent of the ocean and sky. We then carefully chose silver and glass accents such as mirrors, lamps and lanterns along with some natural woven baskets and rugs to add to the relaxed, serene ambience.
