Dear Friends,

Late on Sunday night, a sexual assault was reported on Arlington Avenue just west of Clark Street.  The assault allegedly occurred in an apartment by a person who had met the victim in a nearby bar.  After the attack, the victim ran out of the apartment yelling for help, and fortunately neighbors were able to assist her and call police.

The case is under investigation and is being handled with the utmost care to protect the victim and the neighborhood. This is a serious allegation and we will be following the investigation.

Please always be aware of your surroundings, and if you see something that makes you in any way uncomfortable, please call 911.

Please feel free to call the 19th District at 312-744-0064 if you have any information.

Lincoln SSA Community Meeting

As we reported earlier, the Lincoln Avenue Special Service Area (SSA) has helped to keep Lincoln Avenue (from Webster to Diversey) a clean and beautiful corridor for the past ten years. The SSA funds services such as sidewalk litter pickup, garbage bin servicing, sidewalk snow removal and salting, landscaping, and sidewalk power washing. These services are in addition to City of Chicago services or are services that the City does not provide.

Local stakeholders are now seeking to renew the SSA to keep Lincoln Avenue a clean and vibrant place to live and do business, and your feedback is needed.

The Lincoln Avenue SSA Advisory Committee and SSA Commission invite property owners, residents, and business owners along Lincoln Avenue to join for community meetings to discuss the proposed renewal of the SSA. Hear from the SSA Advisory Committee, current SSA Commissioners, Lincoln Park Chamber of Commerce staff, and consultants.

The second community meeting will be held tomorrow.

Wednesday, May 6, 8:30 a.m.

Pizano's Pizza

2429 N. Lincoln
