News That Connects our West Seattle Junction Merchants

Take the Port-a-Potty Poll
We've been working on ways to stay on top of crime in the Junction. The communication between merchants and local police continues to increase, with more owners talking about how crime or transient behavior is affecting their business.

We're now coming back to the Port-a-Potty at the Metro bus stops on Alaska St. We need to decide as a merchant body if this should be removed.

Stop n' Shop Theft

Lyle Evans, the Director of the Senior Center, notified me this week of a theft from the Stop n' Shop. A suspect was seen stuffing his pockets with stolen items. Lyle has a security camera installed and was able to get two clear pictures of the suspect. The picture was shared with Officer Tom Burns who circulated to SPD. The suspect was apprehended at Westwood.

After a background check it was discovered the suspect had a long criminal history and was passing counterfeit bills (remember Easy Street was passed a bill a couple of months ago).

We're working on a block meeting at Virago Gallery with SPD. Email me if you want to get involved. Topics will be security cameras and theft prevention.

Fauntleroy Blvd. Project
Take the Survey

The West Seattle Triangle is bordered by SW Alaska Street, Fauntleroy Way SW, and 35th Avenue SW and has been the site of several recent planning and transportation projects.

This 250M project starting in late 2017 will affect traffic flow into the Junction, plus restricts traffic flow from the West Seattle Bridge. You can read more, then complete the survey to add your voice.

We'll keep you updated.
