What We're Thankful For

Next week we celebrate Thanksgiving - a time to enjoy the company of family and good friends.

The entire staff at Florence Crittenton wants to take this time to wish all our supporters, friends and volunteers a Happy Thanksgiving. We are truly thankful for your support, not just today, but throughout the year. It is your support which allows us to ensure that every girl matters.

lanieGirls like Lanie.*

In the custody of Child Protective Services for most of her life, Lanie spent most of her young life juggling past emotion, present problems and future goals. She lived in many different places, yet longed for stability. Through her positive attitude, hard work and the assistance of Florence Crittenton's Community-Based Services, Lanie finally found the stability she needs.

Prior to her 18th birthday, she moved in with a foster family. Now part of a supportive, loving family, Lanie is a high school junior and participates in a Dual Enrollment program through a local community college, which allows her to earn college credit while still in high school. When she graduates in May 2013, she also will have earned her Associates Degree! Lanie plans to further her education at Northern Arizona University to pursue her career goal of becoming a psychologist.

Lanie's success isn't possible without your support. Continuing that path of success for the more than 2,000 girls we serve each year is crucial.

We ask that you make a tax-deductible gift to Florence Crittenton today to ensure young women like Lanie can receive the stability and the life skills necessary to become self-sufficient and contributing members of our community. You can easily make your gift online by clicking here or by mailing it to Florence Crittenton, 715 West Mariposa Street, Phoenix, AZ 85013.

Just in time for the upcoming holiday season, Florence Crittenton is pleased to announce our new tribute gift program! A tribute gift takes gift giving to a whole new level, allowing you to recognize or remember an important person in your life and positively change the future for girls and young women in our community.

"Giving safety, hope and opportunity to girls who have no one else is a perfect way to honor or remember someone you love," said Bill Schmidt, annual giving manager for Florence Crittenton. "A tribute gift doesn't go out of style and, no matter the size, it always fits."
