After-Pumpkin Party

This week we shift into pumpkin chunkin' mode. Bring your post-Halloween jack-o-lantern to the farm and dispose of it in spectacular fashion via our pumpkin zip line, pumpkin spike wall, or pumpkin drop zone. All spent pumpkins will be recycled by our pigs and chickens.

Market bonuses this week include, cabbage, cauliflower, winter squash, potatoes, and apples. Bear in mind that bonuses change from day to day, according to availability.

A new post on our blog about the pleasures and benefits of preserving vegetables through fermentation arrives just in time for cabbage season! Take a look.

And if you haven't done so already, please take a minute to fill out our CSA survey . We'll process the results and get back to you.

NOTE: As of November 1, we're open from 10:00 to 5:00 every day. We close for the season on November 22.

Thanks for a great season!

The process that allows that to happen is called lacto-fermentation , and it begins with the humblest item in your kitchen: salt.

Pumpkin Chunkin'

Bring your leftover jack-o-lantern to our smashin’ session and let it fly! The Silo Drop and the Zip Wire Sploosh let you do the smashin’ yourself, or bring your pumpkin the Pumpkin Drop Zone and add it to our upside down “fireworks display” as the pumpkins are dropped from a 40ft lift. The Roosteraunt Concession stand is open 11:00 to 3:00 on November 4 through 7, and Tony M will be playing and singing from 11:00 to 4:00 on Saturday and Sunday.
