Science Saturday/Eclipse Viewing

Our council's NOVA/STEM in Scouting Committee and Texas Museum of Science and Technology have teamed up to bring you Science Saturday, August 19 and the Eclipse Viewing on August 21. On August 19, join us for Science Saturday at the Museum, visit all the exhibits at the musuem, work on projects to help view the eclipse and work towards completing several eclipse-related requirements, including for the special Eclipse Patch. Come in uniform (or your Techlab or STEM Scout t-shirt) and you'll get $2 off your and your family's admissions! Then join us on Monday August 21 to view the eclipse from the museum parking lot at a free viewing event.
It's Here! But You Don't Get To Use It. Unless...

Your pack can use BSA online membership registration for your upcoming fall recruiting! But... in order to make this feature available to your families, your Cubmaster has to activate it through www.My.Scouting.org. Your District Membership Chair or Executive can help.

What Happened To Cub-O-Ree?

We heard from packs that running a station at Cub-O-Ree in the Fall was too much on top of recruiting and popcorn season. So, our council's Cub Scout Committee flipped Cub Adventure Day to be a Fall event and Cub-O-Ree to be in the Spring. So, SAVE THE DATE for the Viking-themed Cub-O-Ree on April 21. Packs will be able to camp out, and admission is each pack coming up with a station and running it throughout the day. That night we will have a campfire with prizes based on the stations the packs run.
Looking Ahead: Tiger/Partner Day

Make plans to send your Tigers and their Adult Partners to a fun day outdoors at Cub World at Camp Tom Wooten on Saturday, November 4. Scouts will be able to earn their "Tiger Tales" Adventure, get their first "shot" at the BB and archery ranges, and enjoy a campfire with songs and kits. Families can choose from a morning session (9am-Noon) or and afternoon session (1pm-4pm).

Registration available soon at bsacac.org/events
