Cultivating Hope 2017
The Taste of Fort Mill wishes you and yours a Happy New Year! 2017 brings a new milestone for The Taste of Fort Mill - our five-year anniversary! To those of you who have supported us from the beginning, thank you for believing in our efforts sight unseen.  To those who have come onboard over the years, thank you for making it possible to build on past success! We invite all donors, old and new, to join us as we celebrate this joyous milestone and become a 2017 sponsor. Sponsorship is easy and directly supports the  children at The Palmetto School.
As we move toward our five-year milestone with new hope and purpose, let us pause for a moment to reflect on a few of the things TOFM has helped The Palmetto School accomplish over the past four years with the support of our generous sponsors.
  • TOFM has raised over $400,000 (gross income) where over 90% of every dollar raised went to The Palmetto School.
  • With the help of the funds raised by TOFM, The Palmetto School was able to (a) increase the school's transportation fleet, (b) secure a third classroom, (c) maintain a researched-based leveled literacy intervention program, and, perhaps most precious to the children, (d) a Healing Garden designed by the children was installed on the grounds of the school. Not only did the children design the garden, they also got their fingers dirty planting tulips, creating a stone path and spreading mulch. Nothing heals the soul quite like gardening!
With all of this and more accomplished in four short years, think of what TOFM can do for The Palmetto School at the Children's Attention Home in the next five years with YOUR help. Please consider a sponsorship today!

Hope To Tell

Former Taste of Fort Mill event chairperson and current Palmetto School Board Vice Chair, Ann Feldmann, was speaking with a friend whose daughter is a local kindergarten teacher and learned this story of hope to tell:

The daughter, a kindergarten teacher of an area school, told her mother she had a new student in her classroom who was quite smart and very polite. This child had just changed schools and the daughter shared with her mom how pleased she was with his adjustment and academic achievement. When the daughter/teacher asked the child what school he came from, he replied, "The Palmetto School".

Congratulations to The Palmetto School educators for the difference you are making in the lives of abused, abandoned, neglected and homeless children. Thank you for making the future a better place for them and for us all.

Our sponsorship team is excited to launch the 2017 fundraising drive for the
