Nominations are now being accepted for the 2018 St. Catharines Arts Awards! Help honour St. Catharines' artists, residents and businesses by nominating them in one of the following categories:
  • Arts in Education Award
  • Emerging Artist Award (2 recipients are chosen)
  • Established Artist Award
  • Making A Difference Award
  • Patron of the Arts Award
Arts Awards recipients will be announced on Monday June 4, 2018 at the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre.

City News
Bridging Our Future
3rd floor, City Hall
January 11 @ 4:00 p.m.  
 
Bridging Our Future, an art exhibit celebrating the Niagara community coming together, is on display now until Jan. 12 on the third floor at City Hall.
 
More than 200 people helped create this mobile mural during the 2017 Pow Wow in October at Montebello Park. The mural is made up of five canvases designed to be displayed together. It explores a vision emerging from First Nations culture, as well as new connections and friendships, between Native and non-Native peoples.
 
The exhibit reception is set for Thursday Jan. 11 at 4 p.m. on the third floor of City Hall, near Council Chambers. All are welcome to attend
 
The City is pleased to host this collaborative project from the Niagara Regional Native Centre and Seedling for Change in Society & Environment.
 
 

 
Taking The Stage

Jan 17 - Sept 7, 2018
 
Taking the Stage explores the history of St. Catharines' performing arts through photography. Twelve historical images celebrate performing artists from the early twentieth century to present day.
 
At a time when the arts are flourishing in St. Catharines, now you can see ... what came before!

Niagara Funders Roundtable
 
The Niagara Funders' Alliance invites you to sector-specific Funders' Round Table Sessions. These sessions will be hosted by multiple funders who will provide information regarding their funding priorities, how to apply, etc. There is no cost, but you must register for each session you wish to attend.
 
Date: January 29 and 30

Loc: Fallsview Casino Resort Grand Hall B, 6380 Fallsview Bld, Niagara Falls
 
NOTE: The Arts & Culture Sector session will be Monday, January 29 from 1:30 - 3:30 p.m. Government funders, business funders and foundations will be present at this session.
 
A grant writing workshop will take place January 30 from 1:30 - 3:30 p.m.

The Cultural Services office is a division of the City of St. Catharines' Parks, Recreation and Culture Services department. Cultural Services focuses on public art, community development, planning and policy related to arts and culture in the City of St. Catharines.
