Introducing the IABC London Outstanding Communicator Award
|
|
IABC London is launching a new award to recognize individual achievement in business communications. Beginning in 2017, the
IABC London Outstanding Communicator Award will be awarded to a local leader who demonstrates strong commitment to communications in his, or her professional work. IABC members and non-members are eligible to be nominated.
“There are many strong candidates for this award in the London region,” says IABC President Jo Ann Johnston. “We want to recognize a leader who values the importance of communications to an organization’s success and stands as a role model to other leaders and communications professionals.”
This prestigious award recognizes an individual who exemplifies excellence in communications. Whether involved in the private, public or not-for-profit sector, the recipient of this award will have made significant contributions to business communications by fostering, initiating and/or participating in effective and successful communications programs.
Nominations open in January 2017 and will be accepted until April 14, 2017. Eligibility criteria and nominations forms can be found

The Anatomy of a Healthcare Marketing Campaign: SickKids “VS.”
|
|
It’s been described as the boldest marketing campaign by a hospital, ever.
AdWeek says: “Sick Kids are the ultimate fighters… showing the power of defiance, and imagination, to heal.”
You either love it, or it makes you uncomfortable… but, no matter what, it’s a campaign designed to get your attention.
SickKids Foundation’s “VS.” advertising campaign launched in October, ahead of the holiday fundraising rush, and it is nothing short of eye-catching. A major departure from the typically emotional, heavy-toned marketing associated with healthcare… this campaign strikes an uncharted new face for SickKids.
Controversial? Yes. Effective? Definitely!
Just like the ads themselves, this is a talk you won’t soon forget.
Register here before sign-up closes on Friday, January 20th at 3 pm.
When: Thursday, January 26th, 2017 at 5:30 p.m.
Where: Pathways Skill Development, 205 Horton St. E.
Tickets: $35 for Non-Members, $20 for Members, $15 for Students

Useful Insights - Without the Early Mornings
|
|
We know it can be hard getting to IABC London events. Early mornings make school drop-offs tricky. And mid-day events require actually taking a lunch break!
So, even though we love seeing you in person, you now have the option to watch PD events on video. Thanks to support from Brian Spencer and
Streaming Incorporated, IABC London members now get exclusive access to videos of every local professional development event. It’s almost as good as being there in person.
Already a member? Sit back and wait for your video to arrive after our next PD event.
