PORT OF LA SIGNS FRIENDSHIP AGREEMENT
WITH THREE ITALIAN PORTS
On Tuesday, July 10, the Port of Los Angeles signed a "Friendship Agreement" with the Port Network Authority of the Central Tyrrhenian Sea which includes Ports of Naples, Salerno and Castellammare di Stabia. The purpose of the agreement is to enhance business relations, foster economic cooperation, strengthen trade and increase tourism between the United States and Italy. The Port now has 17 sister and friendship port agreements with ports around the world.

PORTS ADVANCE NEW STANDARDS FOR CLEANER TRUCKS
Harbor Commissioners for the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach have approved measures to ensure new trucks just entering drayage service meet the cleanest engine standards, a step designed to accelerate the reduction of harmful air emissions from trucks.
PORTS OF LA, ANTWERP PARTNER UP
FOR HACKATHON
The Port of Los Angeles and Port of Antwerp in Belgium are hosting an international “Hackathon .” The technology competition will take place October 11-13, 2018 simultaneously in the two cities and involve participants from around the world.

HISTORY OF BLOODY THURSDAY AND THE ILWU
Decades after the 1934 West Coast Waterfront strike, longshore workers are still an integral part of the Port of LA. Marifrances Trivelli, Director of the Los Angeles Maritime Museum, discusses "Bloody Thursday" and the formation of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU).
VIDEO: 10TH ANNUAL CARS & STRIPES FOREVER! A SUCCESS
On June 29, 2018, the Port of LA celebrated the 10th Anniversary of Cars & Stripes Forever!®, one of the biggest, local patriotic events of the summer. The free event featured classic cars and motorcycles, live music, food trucks, and a grand finale fireworks display over the Los Angeles Main Channel.
