CUSTOM COURSE COMPLETE!
The new fully-accessible high ropes course is in use at Camp Courage. These were the first campers to experience it and they had a blast!

Friends of Israel Scouts visited Camp Friendship to perform for campers. The show was full of song, dance and fun for all!

Meet Our Campers

Experienced camper, Lily, has attended four previous summer camp sessions with True Friends and two winter camps! "The people, both campers and staff, keep me coming back each time," said Lily.

Lily's favorite part of the week is the dance. This year, Lily attended the Moovin' and Groovin' session so she could experience her favorite part of camp all week long. The Moovin' and Groovin' session teaches campers a variety of dances and "lets you get all of your energy out," said Lily. In just a few short days, Lily has learned several choreographed dances and some new dance moves which she hopes to teach her friends and family back home, especially her brother.

Lily enjoys camp because it allows her a short break from home to experience the unique fun of camp. Based on her experiences, Lily highly recommends camp to anyone considering it. She adds, "Camp is a place that I don't have to pretend to be someone I'm not, it's a safe place." Camp is a great place to meet people from all over the world and create new friendships.

Volunteers
We are excited to receive assistance from three AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC) teams at Camp Friendship and Camp Courage this summer. NCCC provides a 10-month, team-based program for adults aged 18-24 looking to make a lasting impact on the communities around them.

With members from all around the country, NCCC teams bring even more diversity and new ideas to camp. They will provide an extra set of hands during the last few weeks of summer camp and add even more positivity and excitement to camp. Partnering with True Friends is a unique opportunity for the NCCC teams, providing a much more hands-on approach to community outreach and creating change in the Midwest than some other assignments. We are happy to have them with us!
Giving is Good

The WCA Foundation, Minnesota's first charitable foundation, is a new True Friends donor. Founded in 1866, this women-led organization evolved from providing safe housing for women to a grant-making foundation with a group of 50 women volunteers who manage the grant-making process. We are excited to count the WCA Foundation among our supporters!

THANK YOU, WCA Foundation!
True Friends Can... round up to support camp!
Many electric cooperatives serving Minnesota provide community support through the Operation Round Up program. Customers opt to round up their bill to the nearest dollar and the combined donations are provided as grants. Because True Friends has camps in various locations and serves families from all over the state, we receive grants from a number of ORU programs: Crow Wing Power, Great River Energy, Itasca-Mantrap Cooperative Electric Association, Lake Region Electric Cooperative, and Mille Lacs Energy Community Trust, with more under consideration. If you round up, thanks! You're helping True Friends.
