The cut- a- thon is underway! Lot's of people helping and we can always use more help! I will give you the low down on what YOU can do...you know, if you're board on Friday from 3-8, or if...you want a kick A$$ playground for yourself or your kids, or your grandkids...or you:)
But first let me thank already my helpers who are helping with pre-work! And please forgive me if I have forgotten any!
- The wonderfully helpful Bijou girls and front desk girls for donating their time and girlpower.
- The artistic Chiara Kuhns graciously helped me make the flyer you will see around town...AND she is making hair accessories right now! PLUS her kids are making Mango lemonade, mmm mmmmmm, and will have a stand for part of the day
- Matt Fogerty at UPS made copies galore for me!
- The fabulous Deb Holbein of Mottville Emporium has jumped right in and offered to make raffle baskets, and pitch in that day OH and she's letting us use tables...but we might need more ;)!
- Meg Keady and lots of other awesome people are volunteering their kids to work lemonade stands and is spreading the word via mouth and facebook!!
- Marty Hubbard (our mayor 5-6pm), Tim Chiavara (Middle school Principal 3-3:30pm), Josh Williams (7/8th grade teacher 4 - 4:30pm) Jason Emmerson (Skaneateles Press editor 4:30 - 5pm) and Thom Filicia's time is to be announced!! What a great sport these guys are, there will be also free time for kids to come down and have their friends dunk them!
- Marshall's of Fairmont (they actually donated these from the regional fund) have donated 2 - $50 gift cards, Thanks to Andrea Brzostek for getting those!
- Doug's is giving us ice for the snow cones and they also donated gift cards for raffle.
- Chuck at Paramount Beauty supply has donated a huge amount of beauty accessories, including an awesome very expensive hair dryer!
- Erin Sammut convinced Thom Filicia to let us dunk him!
- Debbie Hubbard donated her husband the mayor to get dunked! (he willingly did it actually, but needed her to check the schedule, she would have cancelled everything, I think to see him get dunked and maybe throw some balls herself:)
- The Uyehara family is letting us use their shaved ice machine!!
- Donna Himelfarb made a wonderful press release for us that you saw on the front page of the Pennysaver!
- Tim Guinnip from the pennysaver, got us the front page article for us!
- Cindy Petters is doing snow cones, general helping for the event and just plain bringing good juju with her:)
- Olivia Hamlin will be doing henna tattoo's.
- Katie Fikes will be doing hair wraps from 6-8pm
So you see, lots of helping hands! And more helping hands will be helping! The wonderful thing about out village and surrounding villages! Never hesitating, just giving a hand!
We need still:
- Bakers, cookie makers, candy makers, cake makers... whatever your specialty is, we'll take it!
- Lemonade helpers...we'll supply the lemonade, unless you have a special kind you like!
- CUPS...OMG, I almost forgot cups!
- Table Clothes, they don't have to be perfect...they can be plastic
- Hair accessory table helpers
- OH dear...LONG extension chords..big muscles to help us set up stuff..
- Bake sale table helpers
- Dunk tank money takers
- Tinsel tiers, (come in a bit before, so we can show you the "knot")
I was thinking of making a goal, but then I just have no idea what to expect! So this year, I won't. If it all goes smoothly and we have lots of people visiting, we may make this an annual event! Then we can have a benchmark for a goal to beat:) Right now I'm just hoping we can make a decent donation to the PARCS fund in the honor of the sweetest little angel ever!
