Plaza de la Raza's School of Performing & Visual Arts presents its annual Day of the Dead Celebration for families on November 1st from 5-9pm. Festivities will feature free workshops, public altares and student performers. There will also be a free film screening of "Maclovia" by the Latin-American Cinemateca at Plaza's Margo Albert Theater and artwork by local artists at Plaza's Historic Boathouse Gallery.

D�a de los Muertos performances by Danza Azteca, Mariachi and Balet Folklorico student ensembles.

Free Workshops! 

D�a de los Muertos festivities will feature free workshops for children and adults including face painting and puppet making.




Special Day of the Dead Event & Benefit for Plaza de la Raza
Saturday, November 2nd, 2013 ~ 7pm-1am

Plaza de la Raza will host "El Velorio" on November 2, 2013. The evening will be a mixture of nightlife and cultural celebration hosted by actor Jacob Vargas and featuring La Sonora Dinamita. Artwork by local artists will be on exhibit at Plaza's Boathouse Gallery curated by Antonio Pelayo.  Entrance is $10 pre-sale and $15 at the door.
