Community Commons, www.communitycommons.org, is a free-to-end-user, online mapping and data tool created to better connect and engage communities across the country working to advance prevention, wellness and public health related efforts.

Community Commons allows you to access the nation's most robust data engine. You can connect with colleagues around the country working on a variety of issues from improving school nutrition and physical activity to tobacco cessation efforts -- among a variety of other issues.

You will learn:

  • How to drill down on data and create GIS maps to illustrate particular areas of local need, supporting action on policy objectives;
  • How to connect with colleagues around the country to share best practices and lessons learned; and
  • How your peers are using the Commons to advance their policy-related efforts.

Sponsored by the American Public Health Association, Prevention Institute,
the Public Health Institute and Trust for America's Health
