Population level datasets are critical in developing effective public health policies and programs. Now more than ever, data must be leveraged to communicate the need for community investment and maximize program resources. Using county-level rankings is one method of drawing attention to critical public health issues by demonstrating that where we live matters to our health.
This web forum will:
- Provide background about the 2012 County Health Rankings methods and metrics and summarize key data findings in California;
- Share the results of a recent survey among County Health Officers on how they are using data to improve health in their jurisdictions; and
- Showcase counties that are currently translating data into public health action.
Please take a few moments to view an example of groundbreaking efforts to create healthier communities. Prior to the web forum, please watch a short video clip showcasing San Bernardino County's Healthy Communities Initiative.
