Educating Elected Officials: Effective Strategies for Prevention and Public Health
|
Please join us for this late breaking interactive Web Forum
|
Thursday, October 13
11:30 AM to 1:00 PM Pacific Daylight Time
2:30 PM to 4:00 PM Eastern Daylight Time
|
Join us for an important and timely discussion on effectively educating elected officials about the value of prevention and public health-related programs with an emphasis on outcomes and results. Additionally, as the Super Committee continues to debate further spending cuts and deficit reduction plans, an update will be provided on the status of the negotiations and the impact on key health-related efforts. Lastly, we will also discuss collaborative efforts underway to ensure the Prevention and Public Health Fund and key programs like Community Transformation Grants are protected. |
The Web Forum will include:
|
- A presentation by special guest Daren Garshelis (Alliance for Justice) on what does (and what doesn't) constitute lobbying including guidance on effectively educating elected officials;
- A discussion of the latest national developments from Capitol Hill and Washington DC pertaining to the Super Committee and deficit reduction efforts; and
- Updates on collaborative efforts among partner organizations in support of the Prevention and Public Health Fund given recently proposed cuts.
