ANNOUNCEMENT

Save the date:     

 

2nd annual Community Honor Roll celebration will be held Friday June 29th at Fleetwood-Jourdain (1655 Foster Street-Evanston) at 7:00 p.m.  

 

All students completing grades three through eight are eligible for the ceremony if their GPA is B (3) or higher. Families of students who wish to participate must submit their child's original report card to Family Focus on or before Monday, June 11th at 5:00 p.m. Family Focus is located at 2010 Dewey.  

 

Community Honor Roll Celebration is made possible through a collaboration between Evanston/Skokie District 65, Weissbourd-Holmes Family Focus Center, Fleetwood-Jourdain center and the Evanston North Shore Branch of the NAACP. For more information, contact Family Focus at 847 475-7570.

8th Grade Commencement Schedule

 

Chute Middle School graduation ceremony will be held at Chute Middle School, 1400 Oakton Street, Evanston, IL commencing at 7:00 p.m. For more information, contact the school at 847 859-8990.

 

Haven Middle School graduation ceremony will be held at Evanston Township High School, 1600 Dodge Avenue, Evanston, IL commencing at 7:00 p.m. For more information, contact the school at 847 859-8200.

 

Nichols Middle School eighth grade graduation ceremony will be held at Evanston Township High School, 1600 Dodge Avenue, Evanston, IL commencing at 5:00 p.m. For more information, contact the school at 847 859-8660.

 

King Lab Magnet School eighth grade graduation ceremony will be held at King Lab School, 2424 Lake Street, Evanston, IL commencing at 4:00 p.m. For more information, contact the school at 847 859-8500.

 

Bessie Rhodes Magnet School

ANNOUNCEMENT

Middle School Summer Reading List available on middle/magnet school web sites

   

  District 65's Middle School library media specialist put together the attached list of recommended summer readings for middle school students. They also teamed up with the Loft at the Evanston Public Library, to make sure these titles will be available for students to check out all summer long.

Wednesday, June 6th is the last day of school. Students are in attendance for one hour and then off for summer break!

Kelly and I send our best to you. Throughout the summer we will continue sending e-news, posting on the web, writing media releases, compiling weekly "in the news" articles, and posting flyers for our community.  

We hope you enjoy the summer.  Remember to mark your calendar now - students return to school after Labor Day, on Tuesday, September 4th. 

Summer Schedule at JEH  

Beginning June 11th through August 17th the District 65 administrative offices at 1500 McDaniel Avenue will be open to provide services to the public Monday through Thursday only during the hours of 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

UPCOMING EVENTS

   

Come One Come All! Park School's Family Fun Fest is Thursday, May 31st from 6 to 8 pm at 828 Main Street. Join the fun with games, prizes, food, an auction and more! For more information about this event, contact the school at 847 859-8590.

 

The sixth annual Nichols Has Heart walk-a-thon will be held Friday, June 1st at noon, starting at Nichols Middle School! This year the walk-a-thon will benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and is sure to be the best one ever. The "Nichols Has Heart Walk-a-thon" has evolved into a wonderful event celebrating the wonderful memories of a great teacher and providing a great way for students to learn about giving back to their community.

 

 

Kingsley School Playground is the place to be for the year-end picnic on Friday, June 1, 6 p.m.
The school PTA is providing the pizza, salad and drinks and asked K through 2nd families to bring a fruit to share, 3rd to 5th grade families to bring a dessert. There will be live music and a performance by this year's Everybody Rock's club members. Kingsley is at 2300 Green Bay Road, Evanston. For more info call the school at 847 859-8400. 

 

Oakton School Garden Poetry Jam will be held on June 4th from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. when 1st and 2nd grade students will present their original works of poetry, plays, and stories about the Oakton School Garden. For more information, contact the school at 847 859-8800.

 

Working Board of Education meeting - June 4 public session begins at 7:00 p.m. in the Board Room of the JEH Education Center.

 

Willard School's end-of-year picnic will be held on Wednesday, June 6th from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. on the school playground. The PTA will provide entertainment from A-Z, including a DJ, fried chicken, and drinks. Willard families will bring blankets and/or chairs and a dish to share (food suggestions associated with last name of family). For more information, contact the school at 847 859-8110.
