Staying at home? No problem, find some Germany in your Canadian summer scene and send us that photo for your chance to win too! Deadline: August 31, 2017.

DAAD Alumna Margaret Atwood Wins Peace Prize of the German Book Trade 

Canadian author Margaret Atwood has been announced as the 2017 recipient of the Peace Prize of the German Book Trade. Ms. Atwood will receive this award at the close of the Frankfurt Book Fair on October 15th.

In this interview with Berlin's Tagesspiegel newspaper from 2005, Ms. Atwood recalls her experience with DAAD's Berlin Artists Program and reflects on Canadian identity (German only!).

The Postdoctoral Researchers' Networking Tour of Germany 2017 will bring a group of recent postdocs to Germany from September 25-30, 2017 for a week-long tour of universities, research institutes and companies active in the fields of material sciences and nanotechnology. Academic Exchange With Germany is Flourishing

DAAD's annual report highlights the most recent numbers on academic exchange. In 2016, DAAD supported 131,229 students and academics worldwide. Of these, 55,754 people were international grantees; 75,475 were Germans going abroad. Over $650 million CDN dollars were spent by DAAD on supporting academic mobility in 2016.
