Message from Principal Tammy Hayes
Hello Everyone!

As I retire from 31 years of services to the children and families of Reedsburg, I simply want you to know that these were the BEST years, and as we worked together, your effect on me was profound!

I appreciate all the hard work, conversations, planning meetings, and activities we shared! This is an open letter of thank you to the many staff members, students, parents, volunteers, churches, political figures, and community members that have helped make our schools great for children. It is very hard to personally thank all of you, not only for supporting the children academically, but socially, emotionally, and for their safety as well. I am hoping to still stay involved with children in some capacity after retirement because I am addicted to helping children learn and grow!

The one thing that has stayed constant over the last 31 years is how important it is to read aloud to children and with children. Many parents have shared how special it was to have their teachers read to them. Many have even shared that their child wants to come to school everyday because their teacher reads a chapter from a book each day and they can not wait to find out what happens next! I have seen the children of Reedsburg grow up to be successful citizens and bring me their children to start the educational process as well. This had been such a rewarding cycle for those of us who have taught parents and their children.

I will leave you with my belief that a strong educational system strengthens the community! I am excited for all my students as they move into a new era of learning within the next few years.

My best to you all!
Mrs. Hayes :)

We believe in sustaining student learning throughout the year, so students don't lose educational growth during the summer. Studies since the 1970's have pointed to reading as one way to stem summer learning losses. In addition to summer reading, we believe summer math work is also important in the battle to keep children learning at their maximum achievement levels. Starting in first grade, math knowledge will be applied to everyday experiences as students discover math in everything they do.
